I accidentally deleted the default routing for my machine. Ie. when I launch netscape, it says it is unable to locate <local_machine_name>. It keeps running ok, but it is annoying. Also this prevents me from launching Apache webserver. I have tried the following $ ifconfig dummy <local_machine_name> But all I got was an error message--unkown interface. I really do not want to ecompile my kernel. Thanks Patrick Walsh
