[newbie] got mandrake 8, scanner????

I have Mandrake 8.0 I'm thinking about instaling a USB scanner, USB is on my motherboard using AMD K6, with that config, and please ask if need more info, who had the best luck with what scanner I have not buy the scanner yet, just wondering what brand works best. Thanks
