Can someone tell me the difference between the 2.2.13-7mdk kernel and
the 2.2.13-7mdk smp kernel
I am asking because I cannot compile a driver for the smp kernel for my
SB live sound card. My linux box is set up with the smp kernel and the
emu10k1.o driver is compiled for the 2.2.13-7mdk
The smp kernel is necessary for people that use more than 1 cpu chip

motherboards.

After fixing that, installing the driver for the card went easy.
