I learned that the Mac in question is a performa 6116. I believe it uses the
601 processor and rated at 60 MHz. 700 MB harddisk and a whopping 8 MB RAM. It
might have more RAM than that now though. I looked in to MKLinux and that was
the first one that I saw that would be supported on that

First time for this. I'm working on setting up a Linux server on a PPC Mac.
Is there a distribution for the PPC or will RH 6.1 work fine?

First, Mandrake 6.1 is NOT RH 6.1 :-)
Second, yestwo versions: MKLinux and LinuxPPC.
