If ever you manage to freeze your desktop there are a whole lot of things to try before you resort to that reset button. Windows unfortunately has trained us to reach for that button too soon. First If in KDE hit Ctl+Alt+Backspace - This returns you to KDE Login If no good then :- Ctl+Alt+F2
