I guess it should be obvious how to do this, but I'm not finding the right place to read .... my Mandrake 8 box has a built-in Winmodem (which Mandrake detects but cannot configure), and rather than mess with configuring a winmodem, I'd rather just add an external modem to the available serial port.
What do I need to do in order to set up the modem, get the system to recognize it, etc.? (My ultimate goal, once the modem is found, is to configure Hylafax to work with it to create a fax server.)
I'm sure this is documented somewhere, but I'm at a loss as to where to begin. Any and all help appreciated.
