Hi, I'm building a computer to be used as an internet appliance
basically. An old computer (PII 266) I'm connecting to the network for
someone to browse the internet and write email. I have all the parts
inclusing a new hard drive (5400rpm), but it occured to me that perhaps
it might be beneficial to run this as a diskless terminal. What are the
benefits/drawbacks of this? There will already be a server/gateway
running. Would it run slower or faster as a diskless terminal than as a
full machine connected to the network? Will it be easier or harder to
maintain? Thanks for the help.
