a friend of mine got heavy problems with his raidcontroller
after installing mandrake 8.2 he can't boot anymore , it stops when it
comes to mount the raidcontroller as he said
any advice ?

There is a thread about modprobe to use the BIOS-extension RAID
controllers as read
The A7M266 uses DDR RAM and has the VIA chipset. It supports up to 2GB of
RAM (the A7V supports 1.5GB, and the A7A 3GB, though I have never
personally heard of a 1GB stick of RAM, but maybe they exist).
I thought the A7M266 had an AMD northbridge and a VIA south bridge.
