ok. I am a newbie with very basic knowledge of linux and needs some assistance. I am dualbooting win98 & linux mandrake7.0.I installed it above the 1024 cylinder. Now i read somewhere that the lilo provided with this version of linux do not allow you to boot this way. The problem is that my system boots into kde,But realmode linux booting indicates that my file system failed,everything else reads O.k. I get like a plain graphical login interface,nothing like how it looks in the online manual.And my desktop also looks different from what it should be. I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO REPLACE MY EXISTING LILO VERSION WITH THE LATEST ONE. My system spec`s are:k6-2 500,13gbb harddrive partitioned(windows c=3gigabyte,d=6gigabyte),and linux=4gigabyte,fairly recent tekram mainboard,96mb sdram and 8mb ati xpert agp videocard.
