Hi, I have done quite a bit since I made the post quoted below. I installed XFree86-4.2.0 from binaries using the sh Xinstal.sh process. I read the instructions in the INSTALL file. And said yes to everything. I have a copy of the two directories so i could find old stuff if need be. I
