[newbie] what is KillAll and how do I stop errors

Good afternoon folks, I've been running Mandrake on an old PIII 500 desktop for the past two weeks and everything seems to be working fine, except for when I go to shutdown (Halt). When I shutdown the box and Mandrake goes through it's process, a command KillAll pops up and then I get a failed
