did you ENABLE networking, is the proper config mode checked (manual, in your case), correct netmask, and also the correct module for the Network interface card (net device = eth0)? You also have to put in thMhï+fault gateway. go to: http://www.scyld.com/network/index.html#pci to find the correct driver for your nic.
