Seriously though, I think HTML mail is a useful tool when, and only when, there is a call for the kind of things HTML is good at - colours, images, non-ascii characters etc. There is rarely any point in sending HTML mail to an English-language mailing list.
Another thing is that I have my mail client set up to view text in the way I like to read it. I don't want other people interfering with that, so until Mozilla allows separate user style-sheets for mail, I'd rather people didn't post in HTML.
