I have run Xconfigurator from the console as well as from an X-term window.
Because Xconfigurator probes the video card I have had it crash or lock up
when running from an Xterm window (in RedHat 5.2), on the odd occasion.
I would suggest that if you are configuring either X or the mouse boot
