Maybe the sound is too low. try turning it up. I have a soundcard like yours, and Linux also detects it as Ensoniq, and also like you, I couldn't get it to be a PCI128. The only thing I haven't got to work right is the system sounds, but I have CDs and mp3s working fine. Hugo -Original
