I echo this. Do rpm -q make
If you get a return of "make-3.79.1-5mdk" you have it installed. If
you did a "workstation" install, it isn't, and you won't get that
return. You can go back to your install disks and put it on your
machine, however. There may be some more rpm's that you need be

I was getting the same problem, its wierd because sometimes mandrake
installed the make command files or whatever they are and sometimes
they didn't. What you need to do is go to the rpm installer packager thing
and look for make on your install cd, then install it. It should work fine
under tha
