Hi, I had a similar problem. The line localhost pppd[1381] : Hangup (SIGHUP) looks like some kind of pppd-timeout. I just edited the /etc/ppp/options file and removed the "lock", after that I checked the "lock device" box on the device tab. Also I unchecked the checkbox on the modem-tab
