Paul; The ASC file contains the bit-count info for the 3 corresponding Mandrake CD's you downloaded. If you browse to the folder containing the downloaded Mandrake ISO files, and run the md5sum command on each ISO, the final output of each will be an alphanumeric code that equals the same
