Here is another data point: The RedHat V7.3 GUI install allows this button
to work, too. I believe that it uses the VGA16 server, doesn't it? Does
anyone know how to set up the SVGA server (using the savage driver) so that
this button can work? Or at least where this may be documented?

Have you tried rejecting the detected monitor, select custom, and
800x600@60Hz (just off the bottom of the opening screen for custom monitor.
Runlevelsstart @ RL3, then 'startx'.
When this works, RL5 should work aswell.

Try "XFree86 -configure" please.Cp the XF86Config.new in your home dir to /etc/X11
as XF86Config-4.If it still doesn't work,open your XFree86.0.log in /var/log and try
to find out the problem.
