[Newbie]enable scrollbar on xterm?

How do I enable the scrollbar on an xterm? I tried $ xterm -rightbar and no dice, it completely ignores the parameter. Likewise with -leftbar. I do recall setting the scrollbar via some menu or the other which was acessed by a key sequence which I can't recall now. Can I recompile

Hmmm, I am no expert, but it sounds like you have two problems: 1) Your mouse is misconfigured 2) Your are running raw X w/o any window manager. If I were you I'd send: a) Your XF86Config file; b) your /var/log/XFree86.0.log c) your video card Otherwise your not likely to get any help,
