Can i use the second vga-out of the card with Xfree 4.0.2 (i think it is this
version) for Linux?
Or do I have to hack something in order to be able to use a second
screen?
Greetings
Gregor
Is this a G450 or G550? According to Matrox you can. They have an
updated dialer and a
not sure about RH, but I believe you can use an older version of XFree86 (eg
3.3.6) if it supports your new hardware. Check here...

, and that you have good luck with the card. I think getting the
advanced features of the card to work will be tricky, but it should be an alright
card.

of multiple modelines. I simply define [only] the modes
I want/need in the Screen section of XF86Config, like so:
Modes 1280x1024 1024x768
and it works great everytime. To make the viewport and screen (res.) size the
same, use:
Viewport0,0

AFAIK, it's an XFree Server thing. In the 'server flags' section of XF86Config,
near the beginning, there is a line that you can [dis/en]able to [dis]allow this
feature. Read through that section, it will let you know exactly what to do. HTH!

I'm having this same issue, I posted yesterday. I am
running FreeBSD 4.6, with X version 4.2. For some Rage
users, i've heard that adding:
composite_sync off
to Section Device
in the /etc/XF86Config.
Although, it didn't work for me.

I don't have a solution, but check driver status page at
www.xfree86.org.
Some of the S3 Savage chips
like that, and I'm sure you'll find more
material than you could possibly need (in fact, I just tried it, and there
are at least 5 good references on the first page). I hope this helps.

do I know if the card I have is a Millenium 400, or the G400
TV? It does not specify on the card. Also:
How do I discern how much vid mem this card has?
Please cc to me, as I am receiving the digest now.
