the ones included with distributions sometimes don't work perfectly, more likely to have wider chip coverage if you download X separately, i got it with slackware and it pooped, i downloaded separate and it works better, not perfectly, but still.  if you try a download of an older version it mig

I don't know whether 3.3.6 is included with RH 7.3 (it was with all the previous RH 7.x) If it is you can do as Shane suggested BUT in /etc/X11 NOT in /usr/X11R6/bin (at least in my RH setup this is the one which is used...). However, the config file is not anymore the same... Theoretically you
