pre-compiled binaries for Darwin-ppc-5.x availabe on the xfree86.org ftp
site. I logged in as 'root' and ran the installation script as follows:

Thanks for the tip! I tried this, and got XDarwin running. But now,
I am not able to open the DISPLAY when I ssh into a remote system and try
to open an X-application from there, even if I explicitly set the DISPLAY
variable. However, I am able to open X-apps (eg. xterm) locally on my
