I am trying to install red hat linux 7.3 on my new windows xp
machine.
specs are: 1.53Ghz athlon, nvidia geforce2 graphics card with 32
MB.
monitor is compaq fs7550.
Well, everything went well except for the GUI.
I dont know where the problem is but I tried every possible
configuration usin
I am new to linux and I am having the same problem as you with
Xconfigurator. did you ever find a fix. This has only happened in the Server
install of Linux - all was find in the Workstation version. I am using 7.2 - any
help please..

Have you tried the nvidia rpm's from nvidia?

Try "XFree86 -configure" please.Cp the XF86Config.new in your home dir to /etc/X11
as XF86Config-4.If it still doesn't work,open your XFree86.0.log in /var/log and try
to find out the problem.

Have you tried rejecting the detected monitor, select custom, and
800x600@60Hz (just off the bottom of the opening screen for custom monitor.
Runlevelsstart @ RL3, then 'startx'.
When this works, RL5 should work aswell.

yeah I tried to that but it displayed some errors and warnings,
