TNT2 to work.. I got the driver working, but now I can't find out where to
specify which version of XFREE to load.. it's loading into the old 3.x.x
version and the Nvidia driver doesn't work..

Before you issue 'startx'.. You should run XF86Config (slackware)..
xconfigurator (redhat/mandrake?)... or XFDrake (Mandrake).. anyways, you
need to configure X before you can run it (properly).. or else you will
probably have problems with your mouse/video/etc etc..
