I have thought about getting a DVD player for my system, but wonder. I have
seen where they advise your processor be at least 300 MHz and I have a 450, but
is that really enough?

Great answer Dave. I'm wondering if the originator of this question
realizes that just because his computer boots up and locks up he may still
be able to gain access through a different terminal session? He didn't state
if he tried changing terminals (Alt-Ctrl-F1 or F2, or F3, etc...).
Alright, I finally have my audio working but can't play a CD. I get a
window suggesting that I check my cdrom access permissions. How is this
done? My limited Unix knowledge isn't helping me with this one...
