Hello All I am completly new to Linux and just managed to install Mandrake 7.1 on my home PC dual booting with NT. At the mo using a boot disk. My question is what is the X windows, KDE and Gnome? When I type start X I used to get a pretty interface either KDE or Gnome. Now all I get is
