Serbian general to hand himself in to UN war crimes
court
Vladimir Lazarevic, one of four Serbian generals
indicted by the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague, has
decided to give himself up voluntarily, Serbia's prime minister
said.
"General Lazarevic has decided, after a meeting with
(Prime Minister) Vojislav Kostunica, to go voluntarily to The Hague and to
fulfil, in this most difficult way, his duty to the fatherland and to help
his country," the prime minister's office said in a statement.
It said the general would travel to the Dutch city,
where the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia sits,
at the end of next week.
