2001-07-24 U.S. CREATES ANOTHER MILITARY BASE IN KOSOVO The United States is creating another military base in Kosovo for 300 servicemen. According to reports coming to Sofia from Pristina, the construction of the base near Vitina is scheduled to be completed in September. One of the chief reasons for the base to appear is the ensurance of patrolling by American servicemen from the KFOR peacekeeper force on the border with Macedonia so as to end the supply of arms and ammunition to separatists from the so-called National Liberation Army.
