"Angel has been given international clearance to play so he's going to be involved
tomorrow."

On Ginola "He's got on with his training. There's always a lot of rubbish said"
[mostly by you mate] "and printed in the press. David has to work hard to get in the
team and once he's in the team work hard to stay there."

"We tend not to do match reports on Manchester United. I don't want to scare anyone"

On not being in the side all the time

"Yes it is frustrating what with injuries and suspension but I'm fully fit and raring
to go now if I get in the team."

"Hopefully Villa will go home disapponted on the day. I left because I didn't think
they'd go any further than they had.... and they haven't."

When asked about if he keeps in touch with much of the team he says "Just Gareth
Southgate who's out tomorrow. People like Ugo have gone to Middlesborough now"

When asked about Gregory [laughing] he says "Well he certainly says what he thinks...."

[49] Giggs on Spain and Villa

"It was a change of scenery. We managed to do some good training out there and we
played a couple of rounds of golf which were relaxing. The pitches were brilliant,
you've got an extra spring in your step now."

On Villa. "They don't give anything away and they're a good defensive side so we
expect a tough game."

"Dion's a good player, a good goalscorer and a great finisher"

[48] Fergie on Villa

There's a freshness there. I've got four strikers available for the first time in
quite a while.

On Dion, "He was one of the finest players to play here in terms of his attitude. He
was just unlucky that when he came back Eric Cantona was just starting to get
established in the team. He had to think of his career, he went to Coventry and did
marvellously well for them"

"Scholes is still not ready. We're going to give him another week."

The weather wasn't great - I think it was around about 10 degrees, but the training
facilities were absolutely marvellous.

"They're a great bunch together on or off the pitch. Some of them want to play cards
or golf, some want to go and watch the motor racing but they all get on great when
they're together and the trip means they can spend more time together and brings them
even closer."

"It's a great feeling when you know you're over halfway through the League season"

[46] Pancho on Bossie

Posted Friday, January 19, 2001 by Doc'sArmy:
"I think the clun is entitled to put him on the transfer list and get a few bob for
him."

"I'm not saying his attitude's bad towards training, it's just that laid back
attitude."

"I think if he's going to get into that Chelsea team he has got to start working on
his body [we think his contract with Hollands Pies show his committment to that] and a
lot of stomach work. It looks as though it probably kills him when he does all that
because he doesn't look as though he's the right body for it."

"He needs someone to get hold of him."

"Bossie was a quality keeper and still is so I'm sure he'll do well given the chance
at Chelsea"

"I'm sure Mark would have loved to stay here and see his contract out and wanted to do
well for the club because I think it's a dream to play for Manchester United. He
started off here as a junior and came back and won the League with us. I'm sure he
would have loved to establish himself as number one again this year but unfortunately
a lot of injuries, a lot of suspensions [is he talking about official internal
suspension here as we don't remember him being banned by any authorities?] and
obviously Fabio coming in means it's a very difficult time for him. I think that the
move to Chelsea is an exciting one for him and I'm sure all the lads here will wish
him all the best."

"I think he wanted to get on with his career and I think it was important he did move
because we're very happy with Fabien Barthez, he's been fantastic and Raimond Va Der
Gouw understands the position. Well for Mark he's a younger person and he wants first
team football."
