you only need to deposit a fiver if you use a debit card (Switch/Delta etc) so you
don't need to be a high roller - like the editor of RN who is wasting money betting on
Big Brother - very, very sad indeed.

[8] More Utd Irish grief
---------------------------------
Posted Saturday, June 1, 2002 by tb:
>From the Guardian:

Paul McGrath, the staunchest defender of Roy Keane during his recent troubles, has
joined the Irish captain in coming home in disgrace from the World Cup. The former
Manchester United defender had no sooner arrived in Japan than he was being sent back
again by BBC television, for whom he was due to commentate during Ireland's matches.
It acted after receiving complaints from members of the players' families about
McGrath's behaviour on an 18-hour journey from Ireland.

[6] Veron looks ahead
---------------------------------
Posted Saturday, June 1, 2002 by bar-knee:
"The World Cup is just what I need after the season I have had. A lot has been said
about my season at Manchester United and it's true it did not go the way I would have
liked. It wasn't a good year for me at Manchester United. But it is always difficult
moving to a new country and adapting to a different style of football. Things can get
better and I hope they will. If I have a good World Cup it will give me a real boost
for when I go into next season. Perhaps the World Cup will mean a second start for me.
All I am thinking of right now is Argentina. I just cannot allow Manchester United to
enter my thoughts. The national team is far more important at this moment in time and
I want to focus all my attention on giving my best to them."

[5] Duff dismisses move talk
---------------------------------
Posted Saturday, June 1, 2002 by bar-knee:
"It's the first I've heard about Inter Milan so I won't let it bother me at all. Once
the World Cup is over, I'll be going straight back to Blackburn because I love it
there and I've got no intention of leaving the club."

[4] Blanc on staying

[2] Becks to win 50th cap
---------------------------------
Posted Saturday, June 1, 2002 by bar-knee:
FA insider tells the SUN: "We have discussed the idea of awarding players who make 50
appearances with a special commemorative cap. What better, in the year of the Queen's
Golden Jubilee, than for David Beckham to be the first recipient especially after what
he's gone through to get to this World Cup."
