I'd use an ammeter to check break-even with that set-up first. Too high ? too much load. LED taillight would help off-set it. Brake light alone is huge draw. I suggest running an ammeter check and observing all combination's of lights / rev ranges to become familiar with actual operating of char

Another problem might be that the on/off/reserve valve might be stuck at a point that is keeping the gas off. I would check it for that and possible damage. Check the gas tubes as well to make sure that they are still firmly attached. From: Angela Kennedy To

i laid my 1993 honda 750 nighthawk down. it was on the ground for a minute or two and some (but definitely not all) gas leaked out the gas cap. i picked it up. and when i went to start it, it started back up. a minute later it died. i figured i flooded the engine. so i let the bike sit for 7 hours.

I got the light mounted using the existing brackets. I had to cut off the stock horn bracket and raise the gauges about 3/4". I will post a photo when the weather gets nice in NY. I can't wait to try it out at night. With the high beams on, I am sure I am going to get significant voltage drop
