OK! Check the files section. It's a .pdf so everyone should be able to
read it or print as necessary. One caveat: on some computers the
colors are a bit dark so take care differentiating between the Black
and DkGreen, especially. Hopefully it's helpful to someone; I spent a
lot of time on it!
Excellent, thanks a lot Kevin. Are the rest of you thinking what I'm
thinking?

Kevin,
That diagram is fantastic! This will be a big help for me. I'm
planning on using the winter to do some cleaning / restoration on my

Thank you very much.

Go online and look for KROIL. Oil that creeps. Far better than
anything else.

Recently bought a 1997 Nighthawk 750 with 22,000 miles on it. It is easy to
see why everyone seems so excited about owning one of these. I do too. Rode
many years ago and am in love with doing it again.

Kurt,
The earlier NHs - like my 82 - are supposed to have accelerator
pumps (mine doesn't - carb swap). I don't know about the newer ones
however.

From my experience jets that are too small or restricted fuel lines just make
it have no power. Too large main jets will cause a sag thought they would have
to be greatly over sized to make it feel like you turned the ignition off. I
would pull the carbs and clean them, check the diaphragms,

What sort of maintenance has it had?
To isolate the problem you'll need to do some methodical
troubleshooting of the fuel, air and spark systems.
I'd recommend buying a service manual for starters. There are 3
available: Clymer, Honda Service and Honda Common Service. All 3 make
up a pretty
There isn't one, I could be wrong but I doubt it. These carbs use a pair of
fuel bleeds, the slow bleeds are metered by the fuel screws, and the main jets
are metered by the needles. So up to 1/4 throttle you are running on the slow
jets then the needle regulates fuel though WOT which is
All,
Something you may want to try is a 50 / 50 mixture of ATF and acetone.
It seems to work on the 65 year old fasteners on my 1945 Jeep.
Hope this helps.
