Went to the Vintage show yesterday, and took one of my 700-S with me.

I took it apart. Saw a plastic diafram in a platic/ rubber like matter
cylinder insert that lead to the vent in the gas cap. I put a small hole
in it for more venting. I still have the same problems...runing out of gas
at 60 to 80 miles with about 2 gal. still left in the tank.

I have an '82 Nighthawk 450 with some speedometer issues and I'm
wondering where to begin my troubleshooting. The speedometer isn't
working, however the odometer and trip meter are working normally.
Could this be a simple case of the cable going bad? Or, is it more
