I agree - last year this bike was going for a lot less - however they
were probably in much worse shape.
My advise - go to www.hulu.com, watch a couple of episodes of Pawn
Stars and walk in with $1,000 in one pocket, $200 in the other two and
$100 in your wallet. Pull out the $1,000 (in hundreds)

That's how clean my bike was when I bought it 3.5 years ago - it had
16,000 miles and had never been rained on. The previous owner washed
it after every ride and put it in his garage - covered. 30,000 miles,
one 20 mile an hour crash and multiple drops while stopped later it
doesn't look as good
Actually, I didn't repaint the tank - just buffed it up and then
had the plastics painted to match, Graham

It's wise to use a two-part urethane clear on the tank to protect

I think the guy's asking price is decent, so if you can get it for anything
less, you're doing good. Let us know.

Basically the tail piece. The 250 has the sides and tail cowling all one
piece, it seems, and finding a good one that isn't cracked, scratched all to
sin and back, or broken in a reasonable price is hard to do. A bit like
finding the side panels for the 80s bikes and the 90s 750s.

Thanks. I have to show my 'newbieness' what's a " cowl panel". They
didn't cover that in the MSF course ;-)
Anyone else have an idea what they would offer?

1500 doesn't seem bad if the bike is in great shape. Mileage is lower than
the projected KBB accumulated mileage: if the chain is good, rubber is good,
and those expensive cowl panels aren't all bashed up in person, offer him
something slightly less. I'd probably give him $1400 for it, but that's m
Hi Group,
I've been lurking here for a few months and I'm close to buying a bike. Can
you all give me your thoughts on this one? I think the price is a little
high, based on KBB. They say retail in excellent condition is $1125 though
I don't know if I can rely on KBB.
Thanks again. This seems

Graham, I got the seat already! sorry I forgot to mentioned it... actually I
can't remember right now, but I think I got in Saturday... anyway, it looks

Thanks a lot.

I gave the skins to my paint guy and told him about Color-Rite but he
said he'll just have his company (he works for a body shop) match the
color and then he sprayed pearl over the top. He now has my red '95
CB750 to paint. I told him either match the color or paint it
black. Graham

I wouldn't want to paint over it...so I swapped the fender, cowl and
tank over to my parts bike in exchange for the parts bike's black
skins.
I'm not a fan of yellow either, but I have to admit it does kinda,
sorta grow on you after awhile.
Bike looks good. Did you go with Color-Rite or have it
a couple of weeks ago, had it repainted, etc. etc. Runs really
well, Graham
