Hi. Yes it has a cable clutch. Adjust to help shifting into first? Do
you think the loose chain was causing the slipping/chatter I had
previously? I guess it needed to be adjusted regardless. One thing...I
haven't got my manuals in yet, do you adjust the chain while it's sitting on
the side
Recently my high mileage 92 NH750's starter motor bugged out. The solonoid
clicks but the motor won't turn.
On removing the starter, I found the inside full of oil, which apparently
entered by way of the starter clutch. Should there be oil on the starter
clutch where it connects with
Good suggestion ppl on the GS forum often have to disassemble and clean the
fuse block to cure their electrical woes.

If it was the chain making the chatter you may want to check and see if you
need a new chain and sprockets. I always change both sprockets and chain at
the same time. When tightening the chain always make sure that you adjust both
sides of the rear tire evenly.

I can't think of how a chain would affect gear shifting. A loose chain will
make the bike feel rough for lack of a better description. I would adjust the
cable to ensure the clutch fully engages/disengage before assuming there is a
problem with the clutch pack or the shift fork. Set the
Sorry guys,
Not sure what is going on with my account but someone sent me a link with
pictures on how to fix the broken/bouncing rpm gage needle.
My computer has wiped it away and cannot find.
Could whoever sent that please send again.
Thanks

Hey,
Can someone give me a quick how-to on checking the oil level on this
bike? I'm waiting for my owner's manual to come in the way and I'm
wondering if my oil level is low. On the side stand, sitting level,
dip stick in screwed in or notand what viscosity oil? I won't get
into dino -vs-
On the level, hold it up level if you have no main stand, dip stick
just resting in place, not screwed in. I use Shell Rotella T 15w - 40.

Thanks. Where on the dipstick should it be? Somewhere on the smaller
section at the bottom? Sure wish I had a picture. :-) The last inch of the
stick has grooves, I assume to collect the oil so you can see the level.
