It sounds like you're shorting to ground via the splices that you made. I'd
undo that and try to find "dual element" LED replacement bulbs.
Also, other users have reported having to use different flashers than stock
since the LEDs draw less current than incandescent bulbs.

i have a '95 nighthawk 750 and recently tried to replace my cracked
turn signals with aftermarket LED lights. the rear went fine, the
front are supposed to run and signal so there are two hot leads for
the factory dual filament bulb but so i tried splicing them together
and it worked for the right
50 or 60mph ish depending on tyre condition and road state
