After having recently used my crash bars I second the advice to not crash
the bike. It sucks in more ways than one. That said, my crashbars did their
job and protected the engine and tank.

I was looking around on Ebay and spotted a set of used forks for 100 bucks
with a make an offer option. Put in an offer for 40 bucks and it was
accepted (plus shipping of 23 dollars) so 63 bucks.
