That is what I thought. That is why no one expressed interest. John, if you
still have the bike and want to sell post what you want for it and if it is
a good deal like Mike's bike was it will sell quickly too.

Sure, but seriously, don't make a decision based on our opinions. Test ride
one, or something similar.

Thanks for the post guys. After reading these post I think I'll let this one
pass and look for a Shadow 1100. I do like the shaft drive on the ST1100.
Thanks again!

Good post. Keep in mind like some of them said cruiser styling means they have
very little suspension travel, so they are usually harsh riding. Also low
ground clearance makes them drag hard parts too soon.

Nevermind. I'm too tired and too annoyed already tonight. Buy whatever you

What I was getting at is that the complexity of a water cooled system brings
additional parts to fail. That is all, IMHO that is the strength of the later

No, they won't, but they'll still discontinue bearings, seals, rings, etc.
It's a hazard of owning ANY older bike, discontinued parts.

Well Honda will never discontinue a water pump for the 90's NH. Right now on
the VFR list they are working on an electric water pump conversion because of
just that reason. If you have a VFR or CBR older than 2000 you may not be able
to get a replacement pump, unless you get a used one off Ebay.
2002 was still carbureted, I think.

You won't fit in with the harley group any more than you would on your ST.
Maybe less, from what I've seen they dislike metric cruisers more than sporty
bikes.

Are we really going to start that argument again? There is a reason that

it has nothing to do with emissions.

No it's a fine choice. It is just V-twins have no power, especially when they
are small displacement. You should ride one before making a decision.

uhmm water cooled imo is not a good thing? just one more headache? air
cooled machines with regular oil changes can do 100k miles.

Cruisers aren't the most maneuverable of bikes, especially at slow speeds.
I'd recommend you at least take a spin on the bike before you consider
buying.
An ACE is going to shake more, feel less powerful and turn more heavily at
slow speeds than your Nighthawk. About the only good things I can say
It is a little bit of a "fit in with the Harley group", for $2,500. Is that
bad thing?

I have not ridden it, I just think they look. And I thought the cruisers are
for short trips. Is the Shadow ACE a bad pick for a cruiser?

I'm thinking about getting a Honda Shadow ACE as a cruiser around town.
Not sure if I'll sell the 92 Nighthawk 750 or not. If I get it I'll have

2001 ST1100
2002 Shadow ACE 750
