I was just down in LA for business. I was blown away at the way they lane
split. This guy is really calm compared to some of the other guys I saw.
I was doing 55 in the car pool lane and a bike split the lane next to me
doing at least 15+ over my speed. Crazy stuff and a good way to die.

Sadly the way things are going in VZ right now texting on a bike while lane
splitting probably isn't the most dangerous thing you could be doing down
there. I did notice that while Brazil didn't seem to enforce any traffic
regulations they did seem to have a helmet law. I didn't see a single rider

to see collisions between them. I saw a bunch of guys on vstroms 650 and
klr 650 (including the police), which was surprising. I also saw a guy
texting on his cell while riding on the freeway.

BT45, or metzeler, IMHO. I've never heard of anything but good about them. I do
have to state that I'm having good luck with the Shinko 230. They don't last
super long 6-7 K miles, but they are cheap, sticky, and ride nice. I think the
712 is a little harder compound and lasts longer, more than
I have never seen lane splitting like what goes on in Rio but down there
90% of the bikes are 125s or 250s, a 750 would be way too big to lane split
like they do. The bikes down there are on the horn all the time too to let
the other drivers know that they're coming up.

I found out about the tire pressure issue causing scalloping, switched to
nitrogen, now the pressure never changes with either hot or cold tires. And
no slow leaks.
