Of course, if you got the black engine, they look better and dissipate heat
better; but they also hide leaks better as well. Get a strong flashlight to
help you see better.

Just a suggestion:
1. get dirty,
2. clean your motorcycle engine up (you may figure it out when cleaning -
hint, start high and go down),
3. find out where it is leaking after it is clean,
4. take pics of where it is leaking, and
5. then come back and ask the experts again.
That's what I do, an
Many of my 650s and 700Ss leak for the valve cover gasket, too. Usually
obvious, but maybe yours could be hard to see. Look there also.

Thanks - Sounds like a logical place to start. I'll clean the bike again

there I'll get the tork wrench out and figure out where it's today and add

A common leaking place for the NH750 is at the head gasket, usually from
the left side when parked on the kick stand. I was able to reduce mine to a
minimum by tighten the bolts (very carefully!)

The 80s bikes will leak sometimes from the O-Ring around the shifter lever.
I don't know if the 90s have the same issue.

It's even with the kickstand and about in inch in. The oil is dripping
from above and coming out at that point. I haven't been able to figure out
where it's coming from. I cleaned and degreased the bike and it stopped
for a couple of days. My guess is it's the back of the engine but I really

My bike drips about 3 to 4 drips of oil every night while parked in my
garage. Probably about the same during the day at my office. I didn't get
to ride this weekend and it dripped all weekend - I put a box under the
drip and moved it every morning and night - always a new drip. Other then

Thanks Kyle, actually the chain is not totally down in the crankcase and I
have it hanging on the frame but I do not have enough slack to even get one
cam in and the motor is totally locked by it except for about a 2 or 3
degree movement at the crank and the plugs are out.

Remove the sparkplugs, hook the chain with a coathanger, and gently turn
the crank bolt at the alt in the reverse direction. The danger is in
twisting the chain, go slow and work it out gently without applying too
much force. Once you retrieve it, tie it off to the frame with a bit of
wire.

The Honda can chains are a double roller design and are resistant to
stretching. If you do manage to stretch one replacement will entail
splitting the case as I have only seen solid loop chains. I wouldn't worry
