Hello everyone :) I have been looking for a bike to be my first, and have
been quite impressed with the look and reliability of the Nighthawk. From
my research, there are quite a few of these bikes still on the road, and
all the owners (much like yourselves) absolutely love them. I have been
I've taken the time to jet before, and it is a pita. I think I pulled my
carbs a half dozen times to change jets and needle positions. I used the
factory pro tuning guide as a reference. However I found that you should
set the pilot circuits first then go to main jet sizes then needle
position. A v
Stock airbox and filter with stock exhaust? If yes there is a carburetor
issue, valve adjustment and sync. If no then jetting is needed. A common
practice is to open the idle fuel mix open, but the correct way is a jet kit
and start with the main jet, then main needle height, then float level
OK first off what bike? Am I understanding the issue correctly. You are in
a high gear and it accelerates sluggishly with misfires? The pilot jets
only matter for idle and up to 1/4 throttle so if your too rich at big
throttle openings then most likely the main jets are too big. Have you done

When were they last synchronized?

Especially you, but anyone with tips. Paid someone to set it with a
probe. Wanted it perfect, but It ain't right! He will fix, but it is over an
hour away. In a slightly too high a gear, it accelerates, but skips a little.
Seems rich(?). So I leaned it half a turn. Much bette

I had a buddy that put a car tire on the back of his Suzuki Boulevard once.
In a straight line it handled just fine but leaning into a turn became a
conscious action. You couldn't just ease your way into it and let it
happen, you had to physically throw the bike over with your hips. Once it

Oh yea, you should start by cleaning all of the electrical connectors and
use dielectric grease upon assembly. Be careful around the fuse box, it is
the weak link on the bike the spades that hold the fuses are prone to
corrosion and break.

Just bridge the posts on the solenoid with a screwdriver. If the battery is
charged and the starter works then it will spin so replace the solenoid. If
it doesn't spin replace or try to rebuild the starter.
