I love that Hurricane, working on her is a privilege, especially when you

She has only been out on it once, for a nice long evening ride, she did not
say she noticed anything. She can't ride right now, for probably a couple
weeks (recovering eye issue), so I don't know what a longer exposure to the

Yea I have yet to see any Honda built in the 80's that didn't have
electronic ignition. You may be able to rotate the pickup plate though for
minor timing adjustments. Valve lash is a must check and should be done
every other oil change. Have you made sure your air filter isn't clogged or

conversion kits or MSD makes electronic ignitions for bikes.

working on tuning it up. New spark plugs, Sea foam through carbs, and I am
going check the values and the timing next. Also the previous owner put a
small sprocket on it I have the original and would like to put it back on

I am simply so glad to be done and see that the fix works so well that I

The bars have built-in risers with studs off the bottom of each riser. I

2 years is enough time to build up enough carbon in the starter to make
shorted brushes etc. Especially if that is a typical day for you.
Pop it off, blow it out, and put it back on, if you have not done that yet.
I am still half-suspecting that some rebuild kits a have brushe
