I agree with Allen. Also the tubes method is usually used to test the alignment of the front wheel since that's the one more likely to get tweaked but it should work for you back tire too. If you're thinking it doesn't swing straight you could test it both unloaded and with somebody sitting on it.

Have an assistant hold the bike upright. I wouldn't get too worried yet as it sounds like your used pair were bent too. If the emgo shocks stick then I'd start to investigate frame damage. I doubt you bent the swingarm since it is a shafty there is a lot of extra beef there. Allen Thomas -- You
