All the other gauges and meters work flawlessly. Which has me thinking it's not
a ground or everything would be cutting in and out. That leaves the wire that
runs from the coil to the tach housing or the tach itself, correct? Am I right
to assume the tach jacks into the ignition coil?

The level is a bit off. I don't think my center stand sits perfectly straight
though. Afaik it never has. The mounts are pretty close to brig leveled on the
stand though. Maybe 1-2cm off/not level.

If you set a level on the tip shock mounts are they the same? It really is
hard to talk from the photo. I would wait for the new shocks to come in
before panicking.

A body shop with a frame machine can straighten that. BTW. Was the rubber
foot on the kickstand worn/missing?

I would ride it, if it feels right, it's good. It's hard to tell by looking at
it. The most common place to bend the frame is at the front, where the
steering head holds the stem. I doubt this low speed crash did much to her.

Actually, I think that -is- normal, because of the shaft drive running
through that area. I wish the Honda manual provided frame reference points,
like the VW Bentley service manual does.

Well, looks like my frames bent. At the "v" that runs around the reg rec and
the battery on both sides. Unless it's supposed to be more "bubbled out" on the
left side than the right. Fucking hell. Anyone need a parts bike? I probably

BTW I think there is Just a single diode in there. So you can test it with
a multi meter. Voltage will pass one way but not the other when working
properly.

God damn I hope it's not bent. Abigail has been my life for the past 4 months.
I'd hate to lose her to something as silly as leaving the kickstand down.
Gr. I get pissed off thinking about it. Is it possible my side or center
stand bent something when the side stand jammed the ground/center

Allen,
My tablesaw is older than I am, it doesn't have those fancy newfangled
gadgets!
It probably did at some point, but I bought it for $10 at a garage sale
years ago with a bad cable. Fence and table were still in amazing shape, so
I put a newer motor in it, changed it to a grounded cable, and
I agree with Allen. Also the tubes method is usually used to test the
alignment of the front wheel since that's the one more likely to get
tweaked but it should work for you back tire too. If you're thinking it
doesn't swing straight you could test it both unloaded and with somebody
sitting on it.
Have an assistant hold the bike upright. I wouldn't get too worried yet as
it sounds like your used pair were bent too. If the emgo shocks stick then
I'd start to investigate frame damage. I doubt you bent the swingarm since
it is a shafty there is a lot of extra beef there.

Should I do it on the center stand or off? With or without the springs
attached? I just did some quick measurements and if it is bent it's less than a
couple centimeters. I didn't see anything that told me it was bent. Chalk it up
to 30 year old bent springs and get a brand new pair?

You can do it with chalk lines but you have to be very accurate in your

Well most motorcycle engines, and even old vw bugs use sealant to join the
