Hey gang! I'm having electric problems. The ignition died on my bike. Went to
work and all lights went out on the dash. 91 750. The batt works. The solenoid
fuse was burned out. Melted. Got a new solenoid and when attaching the positive
lead, the solenoid started to smoke. Any ideas?

It looks to be the green and red wire that goes to the solenoid that's smoking.

I bought one off ebay for my 84 a year or so ago, and it looked the same as the
old one but the orientation was reversed. I had to fabricate a makeshift mount
to seat it securely and reverse the leads. Worked great after that.

There is a letter B on one side and a W on the other. I figured the B meant
battery. Worth a try though. I'm just thinking there is another issue since the
old fuse melted. I still haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with my
headlight. Maybe a ground problem is causing this? I gotta

As you may know, two weeks ago I left my side stand down and as a result tipped
the old girl over. My shocks blew and so I purchased a new (to me; OEM, 8k
miles) set of shocks to remedy the sticking rear end. Well, the eBay shocks
were terrible and the sticking was even worse. Defeated and think
I always ride invisible. Basically you have to tell yourself you are invisible
- NOT INVINCIBLE. If you ride as though no one can see you, you are mentally
ready! And waive your "rights" as well! Don't put yourself in a situation
