"Superbike" bars are perfect on just about any older bike. Both Emgo and
Bikemaster sell them for about $25. Some people prefer the European bars as
they have a bit more pull back, as well as more rise for tank clearance,
but that isn't needed on the 650 NH.

I like that idea. I've been looking at the euro bars and couldn't tell if hey
have any pull back. I like the pullback to be honest. I'd still like to keep
the somewhat upright position just lower bars. Like only 1-2 handlebar width
lower than stock.

The euro bars are probably what you want then. I like the superbike bars
because they feel like a dirtbike. They do feel kind of wide and make you
lean forward somewhat though, because of the relative lack of pull back.
However they give excellent leverage on the front end, so you might need to

Graham, let me know how the new painter is working out. I think I'd like to
farm out painting that S tank, tail, and fender for the GS1000. While I
think I can do a good job, I'd rather have it look like a pro did it on
that bike.
