If you look around long enough (and the bike hasn't been repainted
already), you'll find the paint codes on the bike. Unfortunately, ColorRite
only has Yamaha paint for year 1984, but I seriously doubt that Honda has
umpteen shades of black, so look at different years on

Does a battery tender cable replace a ground cable? Basically, if I use a
battery tender cable on my battery, do I still need to have a ground cable
connected to the chassis? Or can the tender cable act as the ground cable?

You still need a ground from the batt to the frame
The tender cable goes to pos. and neg. on the batt to keep it charged
