[Nighthawk Lovers] Charging problems CBX650E

2017-06-26 Thread Per Lading
Hi, I'm experiencing problems with my Honda CBX. When Idling, it has only just under 12 volt current, - when 3000 rpm, it has 14,5 volt. So when I'm having small slow tours, I often risk that there is not enough power to start. I seem to have tried everything... 1: I measured if any "ground"

These bikes do not charge at low RPM, drop down a gear to keep the revs up. Dave On 26 June 2017 at 07:33, Per Lading wrote: > Hi, > > I'm experiencing problems with my Honda CBX. > > When Idling, it has only just under 12 volt current, - when 3000 rpm, it > has 14,5 volt. > So when I'm having s

What Dave said. The regulators in older Honda bikes (and others) are not set up for full voltage down low. They are effectively voltage reducers, with no way to "boost" the output of the alternator. On Jun 26, 2017 06:49, "Dave duChĂȘne" wrote: > These bikes do not charge at low RPM, drop down a

Honda reused a lot of parts on their bikes throughout the ages - try looking for blinker stems from different models in the same age range. On Friday, June 23, 2017 at 7:36:35 PM UTC-4, Greg wrote: > > The problem is vibration. They will come loose. You should be able to find > replacements. Clo

[Nighthawk Lovers] Left side engine cover o-ring... Not available?

2017-06-26 Thread Wil Turner
I have a drip of oil flowing out of my left side engine cover. Seems to me, the most logical reason is the o-ring that seals it! Problem is, it seems every website I check lists this item as not available! Where can I find it? Or what can I use instead? Part 91312-ME5-003 -- You received this

Take the dimensions listed to an industrial supply house or someplace like McMaster-Carr and find one that's close. A little thicker is generally better than thinner, but don't go nuts with it and try to match it as closely as you can. On Mon, Jun 26, 2017 at 8:39 AM, Wil Turner wrote: > I hav

Thanks, Kurt. I'm not sure if one of those stores is nearby. Is this an area where it would be acceptable to use a sealer/gasket maker product? I could apply it around the area of the o-ring and leave the old one in there. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Gr

Hey everyone So yeah, after getting everything ready to rock on this cb700, I find more issues. Petcock is leaking now. I dunno if I put it together wrong when I pulled it apart to replace the diaphragm or what, but I've pulled the things apart like 6 times to reseat it and it still leaks. I'm

I took pics when I rebuilt mine, you can see the proper order from there. As long as the aluminum isn't damaged there's no reason to replace the whole thing, though occasionally you have to replace some of the rubber and plastic bits. http://nighthawk.kylemunz.com/?p=151 -Kyle On Mon, Jun 26, 20
