The CB650SC tach is electrical and does not have a cable. The thick cable
coming out of the back of the case is probably the speedometer.

I bought a new cover from Saddlemen, and it matched the old one I got
with my '85. It look like the upper picture. However, I rode over
there on my PC and handed them the cover for installation. Sometime
passed and then the manager came out and told me the cover they had in
stock didn't look

I should have said pilot screw. It's the one with the limiter cap on it
normally and will be centered side to side under the forward flange of each
carb on the CB650SC. (Some of us old folks refer to the pilot screw as the idle
mixture adjustment screw)

Depends on how nice you want them. I have a set that needs work. I'm
thinking clean-up and powder coat. or maybe rechrome. Either way it will
cost a buck or two. I bought them for my '85 restoration project but then
got a new set.

I'm not familiar with clear powder coating. Did you just mean clear coat
which is a paint process or powder coat which is a baked on process.

No it's not movable. Strictly for a back seat rest and the luggage rack is
aft over the fender. I think this is the only one Honda made back then, as
are the engine bars.

Does the bulb work, and does it look like it was in there when the socket
overheated? If so, it could be an earlier bulb shorted and overheated the
socket, then the previous owner just replaced the bulb.

Heck yes. I did the same thing on my '94 PC 800 and after adjusting
everything properly it ran better and gets better mileage. I'm thinking
about removing the same stuff on my '85 NH650 restore but am unsure about
the value change if any.

Here in California non-operational means you are not going to use it on the
public roads and you don't have to pay the registration each year. I'll put
this one back in the system after the restoration is complete and have it
