I'd like to suggest that you buy my '85 wiring harness that has all the
plugs and wires in their proper order and use the best of it and what you
already have. My harness has one plug that's a little charred, the main one
that connects to the fuse block and that's very common with these bikes.

I bought a starter rebuild for my '85 CB650 thinking i would need it and it
was inexpensive so why not? When I opened the starter it was clear that it
had been recently rebuilt and it was not part of the problem I was having.
So anyone want it for the cost of shipping? $5 let me know.

occurred on early production models - perhaps the later models (84,85) had
a better spring?

Do you drain the carbs by just backing out the screw on the bottom of each
carb? And would you do that if you are riding for months at a time? I
basically keep stabil in the fuel all the time except maybe middle of summer
riding season.

All set. Half can of sea foam and 1 tank later, replaced o rings. All good.
Still need to replace it rebuild ignition switch on the other one. But that
might wait with another one to ride.

Was thinking about picking up another Nighthawk. I have a thing for this
bike. My wife will think I'm crazy. I'd have 2! Anyway only issue with
this bike is drips fuel from carb when bike is running. Owner says he put
new needles in but still having the issue. Only 13k miles so nice bike
